Privacy policy
What we collect, why we use it and the choices available to you.
Last updated: 29 October 2026Who is responsible
Trader’s Angle is an independently operated financial research publication based in Portugal. It is responsible for the personal data collected through this website. For a privacy enquiry, request or complaint, contact us through our contact form.
Information we handle
- Accounts and membership. When you register or sign in, we process your email address, account identifier and membership status. Our authentication provider handles passwords and sign-in verification.
- Messages. If you contact us, we receive the email address, subject and message you choose to provide so we can reply.
- Payments, when enabled. If paid subscriptions become available, our payment provider processes billing and payment details. We may retain customer, subscription and billing-status records, but do not receive your full card number.
- Website operation. Hosting and security services necessarily process technical request information, which may include an IP address and browser details, to deliver and protect the site.
- Preferences. Your chosen visual theme, acknowledgement of site notices, and analytics choice may be saved in your browser.
Optional visitor statistics
With your permission, we collect first-party website statistics: pages visited, a randomly generated session identifier, approximate country, device category and the referring website’s domain when available. The analytics service stores a pseudonymous session marker in your browser and records events on our server. Events older than 90 days are cleared when subsequent analytics activity is recorded.
These statistics help us understand readership. They are not used for advertising profiles, and we do not sell them. They remain off unless you select “Allow analytics”. Rejecting or withdrawing permission will not restrict access to our research. We also respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.
Checking your choice…
Cookies and browser storage
Essential sign-in cookies keep your account session secure. If you choose a theme, the site remembers it in local storage. Session storage can remember that you dismissed a development notice. Your analytics choice is saved locally so we can respect it; an analytics session identifier is created only after permission is granted. You can clear site storage in your browser settings, although this may sign you out or reset preferences.
Why we use information
We process account and membership data to provide services you request or under a contract with you. We handle enquiries and maintain website security for our legitimate interests in operating a safe and responsive publication. Where applicable, legal obligations require records to be kept. Optional audience statistics rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the controls above.
Who helps run the site
We use Cloudflare for hosting and delivery, Supabase for authentication, and Stripe for subscription payments when payment features are available. These providers process information necessary for their services under their own privacy and security arrangements. Selecting an external link, including our X profile or a cited source, takes you to another website governed by its own policies.
Some service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where EU data protection rules require it, international transfers must use an appropriate legal mechanism and safeguards.
How long information is kept
Optional analytics events have a 90-day retention target, with older entries cleared on subsequent analytics activity. Account and subscription records are kept while needed for your account, service and any applicable legal obligations. Contact messages are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with the enquiry and maintain a record of the exchange; there is no automatic fixed deletion date for these messages. Hosting providers may apply their own operational and security log retention periods.
Your rights
Under applicable data protection law, you may have the right to access and correct your personal data, request deletion or restriction, object to certain processing, receive portable data where applicable, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Some requests are subject to legal limits. To exercise these rights, send us a privacy request.
If you are concerned about our handling of personal data, you may complain to Portugal’s data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).
Changes to this policy
We may update this notice if our practices or services change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
